Students are expected to meet with their Resident Assistant (RA) to walk through your room and note any damages. Each room will be reviewed for damages and your room condition form will be signed by you and your RA. RAs will have floor meetings to discuss the check out procedures.  This checkout process is if you are not returning for whatever reason during the academic year.  Everyone will be checked out in May once the academic year is over.

Leaving for Winter Break

When you leave for winter break, and are coming back in the spring, please remember to look at the form posted on your door telling you the procedures for what to do with your room, i.e. keep the heat on at least *70, unplug appliances, close windows, etc.  The Residence Life staff does go through each room after closing to ensure all procedures are followed and will document any violations.  In addition, Security will go through all rooms as well for the same purpose.

Shuttles

Shuttle services are offered to students between Beloit College and the nearby Van Galder Bus Stop in South Beloit, Illinois.  Students often use this bus route to travel to and from O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois.

The shuttles depart and arrive on campus at the corner of College Street and Clary Street by The Wall. Please refer to the Academic Calendar for specific dates.

In addition, there is a WalMart shuttle that runs every Sunday and Wednesday in the evenings from 6:00p.m.-8:30p.m., just meet at the wall in front of Whitney and Blaisdell.

Storage

The College is going to continue having storage for the 2025-2026 academic year. However, it will be strictly monitored and we will ONLY be using Whitney storage.  You can only use storage if you are:

1. An international student

2. Doing a semester abroad

3. Live more than 1,000 miles away from the college

It will be based on first come, first serve and when the room is full, that will be it and we will close it off.  You can ONLY bring five boxes total and nothing more, we will be having you sign a waiver/liability form saying we are not responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen items. Everything that has put into storage, MUST be taken out upon arrival back to campus during storage hours that will be posted, anything left behind will be donated to Goodwill if not claimed.  We are going to do this for the upcoming year and will continue to do so if everyone can follow the policy correctly.  We still encourage you to find an off campus storage facility and there are several listed below.
